High quality piece of furnitureThis is a great bed. I would describe the material as closer to suede than velvet, but it is very soft with a low pile. Color is as pictured. Assembly was easy. The interior slat frame is metal with wooden cross pieces. Comfortably supports a mattress without a boxspring.
