Hand crafted in Montana using genuine lodge pole pine, this unique bunk bed is assembled using the mortise and tenon joinery method for a truly heirloom quality item. Maximum mattress thickness for upper bunk is 8 . This item is professionally finished in the unique Glacier Country Collection style with premium grade stain and clear lacquer. This bunk bed is sturdy and well made. I have zero concerns about my kids using it or that they will be able to damage it. It is solid logs, stained and clear coated. The natural marks and blemishes of each piece of wood are really cool. The delivery process was great. The delivery service Amazon used was NSD they were polite, helpful, and on time. The assembly of this bunk was very smooth. It was 8 pieces and the appropriate hardware. You will need at least two strong people to unpack and assemble this thing because it is HEAVY. My husband and I recruited our 14 year old and we had it together in well under an hour. Two improvements the manufacturer should make are 1. Include warranty information with the item 2. Add an assembly diagram to the written instructions. My husband s first job was at his family furniture store so he is knew what he was doing and the written instructions are easy enough to follow but a visual would make them just about perfect. To sum up here this bunk bed far exceeded our expectations. We love them. We have already sent pics out to friends and family.
