I purchased a Coaster Mission Style Day Bed White . When I opened the package, the wood flatbed holds up mattress had mold on it that was difficult to wipe off. I m concerned because the bed is in the nursery. I called Coaster and they said someone would be in contact with me within 3 days. Nobody called. I called back a week later. Again, they said someone would call me back soon. Within a couple hours someone finally called me back. I explained that I was not happy with the mold on my wood flatbed and needed a replacement. I heard no apologies. They took no responsibility. She proceeded to tell me that as a courtesy to the customer they would provide a 1-time exception and replace the damaged part. I calmly told her that it should be an obligation rather than an exception...I received a damaged part upon arrival. Why is it a 1-time exception if they sent me a faulty product She said I would have to buy a brand new one if I had this issue again. I tried to explain to her why I took issue with that statement, then told her I would be writing a bad review about the product and the customer service I received. She then threatened to pull my 1-time exception, but later retracted her statement. She then claimed we were going in circles and right after I asked when the product would be shipped, she hung up on me. I didn t yell at her. I didn t curse. I just complained about my experience. At this point, I was upset so I called Coaster back and asked to talk to a supervisor. A lady answered the phone and I complained about what I just experienced. Instead of apologizing, she immediately said that she overheard our conversation and proceeded to defend the employee. I said, If you heard the conversation why did you let her hang up on me and not let anyone call me back No response. This supervisor then proceeded to say if I want a replacement part, I now need to email her pictures of the damaged part, my receipt, and a manufacterer sticker. I told her how come they didn t ask for this before, and she replied because they were trying to give me a courtesy replacement without having to send such information. Apparently, now they want to make it more difficult because I was not happy with their service.
